Yes, a thousand times yes. Each pair of stockings is made differently. Higher denier are typically slightly more resilient, while lower denier often more delicate. The more important thing is how you put them on. It is best not to tug and pull the legs on, rather roll them down to the toe and slide them over the foot onto the leg a bit at a time. This is also why sizing is important, if they are too small, and you need to tug them up you will likely rip them in the process. Other factors are chips in your nails and/or dry rough skin on your hands.

100% nylon stockings are far more delicate than nylon blend stockings.

Denier and its characteristics
Low Denier (5-30D): These tights are very sheer, delicate, and almost "barely-there". They offer minimal warmth and are more prone to snagging and running. They are ideal for warmer weather and when you want a very light, sheer look.
Medium Denier (40-60D): These tights are semi-opaque and provide a good balance of coverage and durability. They offer more warmth than sheer tights and are a great option for spring, autumn, or a more substantial look.
High Denier (70+D): Tights in this range are opaque, making them highly durable and warm. They are ideal for cold weather and winter, providing full leg coverage and a smooth, sleek finish.

Nylon stockings are made from 100% nylon threads. These have significantly less give or stretch to them than a nylon blend stocking. 100% Nylon stockings have been around for many years, whereas nylon blend stockings became more popular when lycra was introduced.

Nylon blend stockings are typically made from nylon and lycra. Having lycra blended in will give them more stretch and make them form to the leg more closely.

RHT stands for Reinforced Heel and Toe. Typically without backseam, RHT stockings will have a welt, shadow welt, and a separate heel reinforcement and toe reinforcement.
FFS stands for Fully Fashioned. Fully-fashioned stockings have a welt, shadow welt, keyhole, seam and heel reinforcement that extends under the foot.
Full Contrast stands for the seam (if applicable), heel, toe and welt in a contrasting color from the leg of the stocking.
Backseam stands for the seam that runs from welt to heel along the back of the leg.
Stockings require a garter belt to be worn, whereas thigh highs do not. If you purchase any garter belt or girdle, you will receive 10% off any pair of stockings.
Welt is the name for the top of the stocking.
Point Heel, Cuban Heel, etc refer to the style in regard to the stye area where the reinforcement of the heel meets the backseam.
100% nylon stockings have very little stretch to them and are held in high regard and often considered to define elegance. They can only be made on very specific machinery such as the Pendolina knitting machines used by Gio. They must be handled with care by hand washing only and must be hang dried. 100% nylon stockings will often have a slight buckle at knees or ankles after being worn for long periods of time. Nylon blend stockings are typically blended with a more stretchy material such as lycra. This will give them more stretch over the 100% nylon stockings.
